In the 1960’s, when Beirut was the Paris of the Middle East, our Greek origin grandmother Dolly Myrianthopoulou, found there a treasure of beautiful fabrics and glittering beads that continue to inspire more than half a century later.

With her natural artistry and love of color, Dolly, began to create lavish embroideries of flowers for her own clothing and that of her friends.  When available beads didn’t satisfy her, she re-cut them by hand, creating floral motifs of a type never seen before. During her trip to New York in the late 1970’s, Dolly’s work caught the attention of Alfred Bosand, a designer ofhaute couture for celebrities, and for such stores as Martha’s.He asked Dolly to collaborate with him and she began embroidering one-off designs for Bosand’s private clients. Not long after, Ilissa Bridals of New York invited Dolly to create embroideries for their wedding gowns, and her unique three-dimensional designs became integral to the growth of their business.  In the 1980’s, her designs were appreciated and very much wanted by most of the top designers in the City.

Now, in 2016 with all her love and appreciation for her work, having finished university, we decided to honor her artistry by turning her designs into exclusive bags with our own contemporary flair. Each bag is unique and one of a kind.

The brand’s name, Myrianth, the root of Dolly’s maiden name, reflects the history, the philosophy and the art of the designs, as it derives from the Greek word, μύριος (myrios), meaning “countless” and άνθος (anthos), which means “flower”.
